The City of Anamosa is located in southwestern Jones County and is situated upon the Wapsipinicon River. As a small community, with about 5,500 people, Anamosa is facing economic challenges that have been presented to similar communities across the state and the nation. Paired with past failures of planning, the City Council formed a Downtown Revitialization Study Committee to study the challenges and potential revitalization in the downtown.
